Critical PTFE Application

BIG SIZE is our Business

What is PTFE?

PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) is more than non-stick coating on cookware. It’s grown into a worldwide staple of industrial applications. And for good reason. With great temperature range, chemical and corrosion resistance, and excellent electrical, non-stick and anti-microbial properties, PTFE products have the ability to be formed into many different components.

Wherever there’s a need for moving, vibrating or rotating parts, our reputably sourced PTFE will improve your production process by reducing friction, wear and energy consumption in many types of machinery.

PTFE Composition

Constructed of carbon and fluorine molecules, PTFE is a high molecular weight compound that is chemically inert, UV resistant, offers a low coefficient of friction, withstands hot and cold temperature extremes, resists moisture and possesses excellent insulating properties. PTFE material is used to produce rods, cylinders, sheets, tapes, fibers, yarns and films, which perform in a variety of diverse applications across many industries.

Types of PTFE

Premium Virgin PTFE is the purest, cleanest form of the material. Technetics high purity PTFE is processed, packaged and labeled in a strictly controlled clean environment to create the highest purity products possible.

Modified PTFE is a less porous, copolymer resin. Modified PTFE is manufactured by adding a small percentage of a melt-processable fluoropolymer to enhance the final product for improved strength and lubricity, sealability, weldability and permeation resistance.

PTFE can be formed or machined into gaskets, tapes, films, fibers, component parts, laminates and seals. A variety of shapes, sizes and colors are available for both virgin and modified PTFE
